Sue Cullimore is a retired lecturer in Education, as was her father (like father, like daughter), Tom Walker. Sue was born and brought up on Tyneside and went to school in Newcastle. Her great-grandfather was a fisherman on Holy Island and her family connections with the Island were still strong when she was growing up.
Sue studied Geography at Oxford University in the 1970s and never returned to live in the North East, although she visited her family often. She taught in secondary schools, further education colleges and in two universities. Now Sue is a volunteer with a charity which provides environmental education sessions for city primary and pre-school children.
Her writing experience is mainly in academic research and journal papers on education topics. However, Sue recently wrote parts of a book (authored by her husband Peter, an ex-journalist) about the history of their old house in Bristol after it was shortlisted for the BBC programme A House Through Time.

In 1987 Northumberland, a grieving widower wakes framed for murder and drawn into a deadly clash between extremist groups. Chased by police and enemies alike, he heads for Holy Island, where revenge, belief, and survival collide in a stark political thriller.
