Ian K. Duffield

Ian K. Duffield is an Anglican priest who spent most of his 40 years in parish ministry in urban Sheffield, including 17 years on council estates on the Manor and in Southey. In the diocese, he chaired the response to Faith in the City and the diocesan Church Urban Fund Panel that considered parish projects and was deputy chair of the Faith in the City Committee. For the last 40 years, since gaining his Doctor of Ministry, Ian has been a member of academic staff at the Urban Theology Unit/Union, running its Urban Ministry course, supervising postgraduate students, editing course materials such as Contextual Analysis, and being Director of Research since 1997. He has essays in Faithfulness in the City; Bible and Practice (British Liberation Theology 5); and The Servant of God in Practice (Practice Interpretation 5). Ian contributes sermons for The Expository Times and to Theology’s “Difficult Texts” series.
